Hi, and Welcome!!

Welcome here!!

I'm not listed as an admin, but I was made an admin earlier this year, Brian's the head honcho around here, so to speak. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to have another helper on board!! Hope you find this place nice!! If you need anything, don't hesitate to let me or Brian or another of the admins know!!

Captcha Error

Hi

It's never had a problem with me. AAs we don't make the Captcha, it's probably a Google problem - sorry, not trying to pass the buck, so to speak, I'm just saying Brian might be the only one who can fix this, from what I can look up, as from what Ik, I don't have access to the domain key - here's what I found:

https://help.whmcs.com/m/troubleshooting/l/1189046-troubleshooting-recaptcha-invalid-domain-for-site-key

https://support.pinnaclecart.com/support/solutions/articles/44000588184-fix-captcha-error-invalid-domain-for-site-key

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30735694/recaptcha-error-invalid-domain-for-site-key

https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/recaptcha/

Ik Brian has the access to the key itself as he was the one who wiped this site back in 2018, so I think he may be the only one here that can do much. I think he should considering switching to hCaptcha, but yeah

-- Xi Yao 27 November, 2020 00:04 (EST) Chromis, would you pass on this problem to Brian, the Captcha thing won't even let me put a simple text into his talk page even without any links. Thanks for your help.Arvil (talk) 12:48, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Of course, will do. Thanks for letting me know, btw

Thanks for reporting it. I was not able to reproduce it and the keys look right in the env and recaptcha config. What URL were you are? http://theaquariumwiki.com/ ? --Brian (talk) 17:43, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
See my reply at PsiPro talk

Spam Page

Agreed. It's super irrelevant to fishkeeping, so I safely assume it was a bot that pasted it, link url typos and all. Definitely if it was a person, there would've been more signs of proofreading, but it doesn't. I'll go delete the page.

Spam Page

Agreed. It's super irrelevant to fishkeeping, clearly reading as a dietary blog, so I safely assume it was a bot that pasted it, link url typos and all. Definitely if it was a person, there would've been more signs of proofreading, but it doesn't

Categories

Sorry for my late reply, I usually try and visit once a week. Most of that comes from Template:Fish Data, Fish Data passes it's parameters to Template:Categorize which applies all of the categories based on the params. If you are looking for a specific template let me know! --Brian (talk) 13:20, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

SPAM

Thanks for pointing it out to me. I've locked the Information template, but not the `Salamandridae` page. Usually this is the result of bots trying to find their way through, and if we lock that page they just move on to a different one. Overall our options are... chase them around, or let them use the "honeypot" page and keep reverting it. If you want me to, I'll happily lock that one too.

It's mostly the same here, our filter blocks a couple thousand edits a day. At least they are not smart, just persistent. --Brian (talk) 18:06, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
