Template:Template doc page viewed directly This template may be placed in line within an article, next to the specific citation (or citations) that is broken.

Usage

or

{{Citation broken|{{subst:DATE}}}}

to date it with the current month and year (this is a helpful indicator of how long the problem has been out-standing).

For articles or sections that have serious problems with broken citations, use Template:Tl to place a notice at the top of the article or section.

A "broken" citation is one that does not provide enough (correct) information to positively identify it. For a simple broken link to an online source, use Template:Tl.
