Perspective

If wild claims stop stores stocking these monstrosities, then that's fine by me! It's very hard to find any true proof as it's all done in darkest Asia, it would be illegal in the US and the UK to actually do the deed, but it's NOT illegal to ship them in. I did see a scan of a magazine which had a happy person and a pair of scissors, a guide on how to create "Heart" Blood Parrots sans tail. The claims are indeed unsourced, but I think us three are generally against the idea, as are most serious fish-keepers. These fish generally go to the new aquarists who think they are pretty, or have the words I love you written on them (or at least I hope). I would love to have more citations on the topic to backup the claims tho. --Brian 08:26, 17 February 2011 (EST)

Yup, sounds like a crusade to me. Oh well. I like the phrase "us three". I don't "approve" of these fish, but claims of fact should be cited, not just made up by people the fish offend. In my experience, the old painted glass cats and hatchets were perfectly normal, healthy fish, at least once they reached our tanks. Keep in mind how murderous our hobby is, in general - a huge proportion of every living thing that passes through the chain that supports it dies young. Huw Powell 21:50, 17 February 2011 (EST)
