Heya, thank you for your contributions. With regard to the Swallowtail image from Pet Solutions, did you get permission from Pet Solutions to use this photo? If not, I'll have to delete it. Thanks. --Cat 13:01, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Me again, same goes for the Clownfish photo. We have to have copyright details for every photo on this site otherwise we get in trouble trouble, please let me know, or edit the photo, to reflect the copyright of it if it is your photo. If not, you will need permission from whomever took the photo. Thanks. --Cat 13:13, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

phots[edit]

No I just pulled them off a google image search. I have both of those species in one of my displays I will snap a picture when I get the chance.

Is your shrimp not Hymenocera elegans? I understand it's a family of very similar looking shrimp. --Cat 18:52, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

thanks for the images, good pictures are always hard to come by. --Brian 18:54, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey, some of these images are really nice. thanks alot. Two questions, 1) how do you want to relase them? do you want to retain the copyright or release them for people to use (with attribution, unchanged? etc..) this just lets us classify them properly. Otherwise we will assume you want to retain the copyright.

Second, are you lowering the res of the images before uploading them? on Image:DevilsHandLR.jpg you said "Low Res" in the description. Just so you know, if you upload higher res images the website re-sizes them automatically when its used in different context (such as a gallery or thumbnail.--Brian 02:23, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Harley shrimp[edit]

I suppose it may be I'm not good with scientific names. I just put Harlequin shrimp into google and got something else so I searched for that and didn't find an article.

I'm not sure if they are separate very similar species, or mis-identified and actually the same, but for now I've done these: Hymenocera picta and Hymenocera elegans --Cat 19:11, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

I would like them to be released for any use other than for-profit.
I have two cameras one is a 6mp and the other is an 8mp. Anything taken with the 6 I don't bother resizing or messing with, but with the 8MP some images end up over the 2mb cap so their resolution is lowered so they can be uploaded. If they are cropped at all it is no biggie they end up being below 2mb in size but a full size 8 mega pixel image sometimes goes over the 2 meg cap.

Hi Hpglow, regarding the 2MB limit. If you're just taking the camera jpegs and uploading them, then no surprise if they're over the limit. :-) But if you resize them first, I use the free IrfanView image program, or re-save them with a lower jpeg compression number (say 75) then you'll find they always go below the 2MB limit. --Quatermass 20:27, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeh I just use google picasa to resize them. Its no biggie really.
