Sexing[edit]
- Mature males have a broader lateral band than females. Males also have more blue-purple colour to the body while females are green.
Tank compatibility[edit]
- These fish should be kept in shoals of at least 6-7 individuals. They are peaceful and active and should be kept with similar-sized peaceful fish that will not be bothered by this fish's active nature.
Diet[edit]
- Should accept most foods including pellet and flake as well as occasional live/frozen food such as brine shrimp and bloodworm.
Feeding regime[edit]
- Feed once or twice a day.
Environment specifics[edit]
- Should be kept in a laterally spacious tank with a good mix of dense planting and hiding places in bogwood with open swimming space. These fish are excellent jumpers so a secure lid is a must. They do not appreciate very bright lighting. Does best in acidic conditions.

- A peaceful active shoaling fish.
Identification[edit]
- These are elongated torpedo-like Rasbora with a pointed snout and forked tail. The dark stripe along the mid-line extends from the mouth right through to the caudal fin.
