Shaped much like other Labeo species such as the Black Shark but the body is silvery olive-green in colour with a paler belly, the fins have a slight orange tinge to them. It can be mistaken for Labeo fisheri, but L. pangusia has smaller eyes and a distinct fold in the upper lip.
