Keep in Lake Malawi Cichlid set ups only.

Diet

Feed a quality Cichlid flake/pellet food, supplement occasionally with frozen brine shrimp, krill and mysis shrimp.

Feed once or twice a day.

Environment specifics

The aquarium should have some rock work but still provide open swimming space both along the bottom and mid-tank region.

Behaviour

Typical African Cichlid, should only be kept with other African Cichlids.

Identification

See sexing for colouration between males and females. The fish is elongated in shape with a pointed nose and iridescent scales. Not to be mistaken with Copadichromis azureus, the C.chrysonotus male has a white dorsal fin, females are almost impossible to tell apart.
