Sexing[edit]
- The male's caudal fin is spotted, while the female has a dark purple vent and iridescent blue dorsal fin.
Identification[edit]
- This fish can be mistaken for Pelvicachromis roloffi, however P. rolloffi lacks the blue dorsal fin in the female.
