Hi Brian. I love this tag. " { {C|22|26}} is kept at { {C|15}} "

it is so neat! :-)

--Quatermass 08:07, 28 March 2007 (CDT)

Since you asked about Templates recently Brian... ;-)

The various Cory species profiles we currently have are all virtually the same. So it possible to have a template consisting of a preset paragraph which then could be inserted into any Cory page?

Save me having to sync up all the rest when I have to tweak one profile?

--Quatermass 13:32, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Hi Brian. Regarding my own wiki site, my current host has been really annoyingly vague over PHP5 and won't tell me if I can have it on my server or not (grr) so I may just take up your offer on hosting instead! Not quite sure what option I need on your hosting site though, feeling baffled again. It will be a anyone-can-add type site like here. --Cat 12:00, 24 June 2007 (CDT)--Cat 13:18, 1 October 2007 (CDT)

sent! --Cat 13:42, 24 June 2007 (CDT)

You can find out yourself.

Just put together a 3 line .php file with a php version command in it and then view the file from a web browser.

<?php
phpinfo()
?>

Easy. :-)

what other pages are getting lots of hits? --Cat 05:10, 6 July 2007 (CDT)

Hi Catxx, add a email address to your 'My preferences' page and I'll email you a PDF file of the latest stats.

--Quatermass 13:08, 7 July 2007 (CDT)

Two the two people who read and edit this site consistently :)

When I get back up to school on Monday I will be updating the MediaWiki software (or sometime that week) to the newest version 1.10.1. It should be painless, and since you both live in a fairly different timezone you will likely be asleep when I make the change. :) Just a heads up. --Brian 15:35, 18 August 2007 (CDT)

plants[edit]

Hi Brian, I was wondering if you could update the plant profile template Template:Plant_Profile to add a 'growth_type'.

growth_type The type of reproduction the plant uses. (stem/rosette/rhizome/adventitious)

Also 'Reqiured' & 'Placment' are spelt wrong.

I took a look at the template and I don't want to muck it up. All those brackets! (I must find out how to edit these types. ;-)

I need help on an edit: I attempted to restore a broken link (that site has been re-organized since the original link was entered) and managed to destroy its label, so it is now a noted link with no ID.

I also added a link - the fist link now shown - to the best web info Tetraodon nigroviridis, but it is also without a label. How do I add labels to these and other links? Thanks, RTRJR

another spammer FYI:

--Quatermass 16:02, 13 December 2007 (CST)

what what? ohh my mozilla went screwy and i didn't realise it had already imported. i'll balete one. --Cat 04:28, 19 December 2007 (CST)

is there a way on the fish profile templates to have a new category, similar to the tank size and common/uncommon ones, for temperature. yesterday i was trying to think of small sub-tropical fish other than WCMM and hillstream loaches, and theres nowhere on the internet specialising in subtropical, google it and all you get is goldfish and tropical fish. like have something linked to the "minimum" temperature tag for coldwater, sub-tropical and tropical. does that make sense? --Cat 11:03, 2 January 2008 (CST)

coldwater category[edit]

Good idea, an auto-category of under 15°C to be coldwater fish is do-able. Brian is currently at home and on a 56K modem. So he is limited atm. I'll give it a look. --Quatermass 11:39, 2 January 2008 (CST)

re: the Spam Filter - i'm not sure how to edit this, can you remove the word R0cket from it? there is a shrimp with a common name of R0cket Shrimp. thank you! --Cat 06:34, 14 January 2008 (CST)

spam[edit]

That's r0cket with a zero in it. Why would a shrimp be misnamed like this?

I can do this editing. I'll take a look.

Ah.... it was plain 'rocket'. I've removed it. --Quatermass 07:21, 14 January 2008 (CST)

yeah i had to put the 0 as an o otherwise i wouldn't have been able to post because of the filter! rocket rocket rocket, works now!--Cat 08:20, 14 January 2008 (CST)

image corruption[edit]

Brian, Do you see this picture corruption? This image

appears missing when I view it.

--Quatermass 10:28, 25 January 2008 (CST)

re: Temperature Categories. I was puzzled by them earlier, but i've sussed them now. However, could the category names be amended? "Tropical Water Animals" sounds little childish. And is it just "Tropical" and "Coldwater"? would it be too complex to have a "Sub-Tropical" one (for White Cloud Mountain Minnows etc)? So it would be "Tropical Species", "Coldwater Species", "Sub-Tropical Species", and in each category explain that that is referring to the temperature of the water and nothing else. --Cat 06:05, 4 February 2008 (CST)

were you speaking english just then?!! hehe, i clearly have a long way to go in understanding wiki code >_< does what i said make sense in terms of catagorising if you're able to do it? --Cat 10:52, 4 February 2008 (CST)

Template changes[edit]

I can do this Catxx...

--Quatermass 14:17, 4 February 2008 (CST)

Ok I've now amended it.

Cold Water Species
Sub-Tropical Species
Tropical Species

--Quatermass 14:20, 4 February 2008 (CST)

did that IP REALLY need banning?! --Cat 04:39, 16 February 2008 (CST)

Double redirects is gone! Jourdy288 18:51, 16 February 2008 (CST)

Thumbnail Problems[edit]
