Origin[edit]

Western Central Atlantic: Florida (USA) to Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean; absent from the Gulf of Mexico.

Difficult to visually sex.

Should not be housed with smaller fish or inverts.

Carnivorous; will eat fish small enough to fit in its mouth
