Lumbar amplexus is where the male frogs grasps onto the hind legs of the female frogs.

- Amplexus is the act of mating that species of frogs perform.
- Axillary amplexus is when the male frog grasps the female around the armpits.
- Inguinal amplexus is where the male frog or toad grasps around the waist of the female.
