- A peaceful community fish best kept in shoals of 5 or more. Keep with other peaceful community fish.

- This fish can be exceptionally sensitive to water parameters and disease, keep in mature tanks only. They do best in acidic or peat-filtered water with hiding places and dense planting.

- A peaceful mid-swimming active shoaling fish.
[edit] Identification
- A striking little fish with a silver body, black and white barred tail and a vivid red nose, giving the fish it's common name. Can be easily mistaken for Hemigrammus rhodostomus, the H.rhodostomus is slightly larger in length. The species may be marketed under the same common name. Also H. Bleheri can be distinguished from H.rhodostomus by its red 'nose' markings extending past the gill plate, whilst they do not on H.rhodostomus or Petitella georgiae.
