- The males elongated dorsal fin will be more colourful than females.
[edit] Tank compatibility
- This fish can be kept with others of its own species as long as they are introduced at the same time to avoid fights over territory. Can be kept with other peaceful fish. Does not do well with aggressive fish or fish that may compete with it for food.

- These fish will primarily hunt small crustaceans that live in the live rock. They may also accept bloodworm, brine shrimp and glassworms, these should be used to supplement its diet.

- Requires a mature tank with plenty of live rock and live sand in which to hide and graze.

- An active, peaceful yet shy fish, it will eat small invertebrates. It has modified pelvic fins that mean it can "walk" along the substrate. It will bury itself in the sand at night.

- An unusual fish which is mottled brown in colour with several large dark spots. The second dorsal and anal fin also have blue spots. The first large dorsal fin is displayed vertically, this makes the fish appear larger than it really is to ward off predators. It has modified "finger like" pelvic fins that allow it to "walk" along the substrate looking for food.
